Root Production Process
When buying peony roots from Peony USA, you'll feel confident you have decades of experience to help you with any questions regarding suitable cultivars or planting advice for your specific garden. We process all our roots at our company headquarters in Hensbroek, Holland prior to export to America.
Our company has been innovating in recent years in the use of UV lighting to reduce the use of pesticides and to prevent the growing number of bacterial diseases. The facilities are all built-in so that we can work cleanly and can meet the export requirements set for various countries.
We have the following facilities:

Washing machine with UV lighting, we rinse our product from the land to cut them clean. We can also do export cleaning to meet different export standards. The washing machine is equipped with UV lighting, laboratory research shows that we have achieved a 99% reduction of fungi and bacteria on the peony roots. (source: Eurofins)

Hot water treatment to kill harmful micro organism (nematodes). The hot water treatment is linked to a registration program that keeps track of the temperature and time. The results can be requested.

Disinfection shower to give the roots their last protection before they go either into the ground or into the cooler to await packaging.
